KRG Studios is an Indian Film production and distribution company based in Bengaluru, India. It primarily deals with the production and distribution of Kannada-language and non-Kannada films across Karnataka.[1]

Background[edit]

KRG Studios was established by Karthik Gowda and distributed more than 114 films. In the year 2020, KRG Studios reported another endeavour, KRG Connects (Movie Marketing Unit).[2]

They ventured into film production with Rathnan Prapancha, a film starring Dhananjay and directed by Rohit Padaki.[3][4] Following their success of Rathnan Prapancha on Amazon Prime Video, they produced Gurudev Hoysala, which was released on March 30, 2023, and was critically acclaimed.[5]

Uttarakaanda,[6] is announced as the next production venture by KRG Studios. It is to be directed by Rohit Padaki with Dr.Shivarajkumar, Dhananjaya and Ramya as leads.[7] It is one of the most anticipated Kannada cinema, since it marks the return of Sandalwood Queen Ramya.[8] However Ramya opted out of the film due to unavailability of dates.[9]

The Banner has also ventured into Tamil language films through collaborating with acclaimed filmmaker Anjali Menon[10] and Malayalam through collaboration with Friday Film House.[11]
