George Nechironga (born 7 June 1967) is a Zimbabwean former footballer who last played as a striker for African Wanderers.
Early life[edit]
Nechironga was nicknamed "Tyson".[1]
Club career[edit]
At the age of sixteen, Nechironga signed for Zimbabwean side CAPS United.[2] He was joint-voted the Zimbabwe 1990 Soccer Star of the Year with Zimbabwe international Peter Ndlovu.[3]
International career[edit]
Nechironga represented Zimbabwe internationally at youth level and at senior level.[4]
Style of play[edit]
Nechironga mainly operated as a striker and was known for his speed.[5]
Post-playing career[edit]
After retiring from profesional football, Nechironga worked as a manager.[6]
Personal life[edit]
Nechironga is the brother of Zimbabwean footballer Francis Nechironga and is the son of Zimbabwean footballer Jawett Nechironga.[7]
