日本語: 紙本著色／一面　平安時代後期・12世紀　縦21.8cm　横39.5cm　五島美術館蔵『源氏物語』第３９帖「夕霧」。夕霧（光源氏の子）が、落葉宮（亡き柏木の妻）の母からの手紙を読んでいる。そこへ、その手紙を落葉宮から夕霧への恋文と誤解した雲居雁（夕霧の妻）が、嫉妬のあまり背後から忍び寄って奪い取ろうとする。

English: Paper book color / one side, late Heian period, 12th century, length 21.8 cm, width 39.5 cm, Gotoh Museum collection "The Tale of Genji" 39th book "Yugiri". Yugiri (child of Hikaru Genji) is reading a letter from the mother of Ochiba no Miya (the wife of the late Kashiwagi). Kumoi no Kari (Yugiri's wife), who misunderstood the letter as a love letter from Ochiba no Miya to Yugiri, sneaks up from behind and tries to steal it.
