7. Helipot engineers have developed automatic equipment for checking the total resistance of cermet elements. Resistance elements not within the acceptable tolerances are rejected. The surface of each cermet element is further processed by buffing to remove the over-glaze and reduce noise. Essentially infinite resolution is also achieved, since the cermet resistance element is one smooth, continuous strip.

Published without a copyright notice in "The making of a cermet trimmer, 1966" in Beckman Instruments' newsletter Helinews, number 36, Spring 1966, pp. 4-5. Part of a two-page spread detailing the process of manufacturing cermet trimmers.
