Espakeh (Persian: اسپكه, also Romanized as Aspakeh, Esfakeh, Isfakeh, and Ispakeh)[3] is a city in the Central District of Lashar County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It is also the administrative center for Lashar-e Shomali Rural District.[5]
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,995 in 622 households, when it was in the former Lashar District of Nik Shahr County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,636 people in 885 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,719 people in 1,127 households.[2]
After the census, Lashar District was separated from Nik Shahr County in the establishment of Lashar County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Espakeh as its capital.[4]
