Esko Salminen (born 12 October 1940) is a Finnish actor with careers on television, the stage and on the silver screen.

Personal life[edit]

Born in Helsinki, Salminen's parents were actor Unto Salminen [fi] and actress Kyllikki Väre [fi]. He is of partial Russian descent through his biological father, actor and singer Tauno Palo, whose maternal grandfather was a Russian soldier.[1][2] Actors Jukka-Pekka Palo [fi], Martti Palo [fi] and Pertti Palo [fi] are his half-brothers.[3]

Salminen has been married to actress Rose-Marie Precht [fi], dancer Riikka Korppi-Tommola [fi] and, since 1989, to actress Aino Seppo [fi]. He has two children with actress Heidi Krohn [fi], one of whom is actor Kristo Salminen [fi].[1] Actresses Sonja Salminen [fi] and Kreeta Salminen [fi] are also Salminen's children.[4]
