End of Summer is a 2024 Swedish television series. It is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Anders de la Motte. It stars Julia Ragnarsson and Erik Enge.

Premise[edit]

Vera meets a young man who says he is adopted and reminds her of her brother who disappeared in rural Sweden 20 years previously, in 1984.[1]

Production[edit]

The six-part series is produced by Viaplay and directed by Jens Jonsson and Henrik Georgsson. It was written by Stefan Thunberg and Björn Carlström, who also produced the series with Per Janérus. The series is also produced with Harmonica Films, SF Studios and Film i Skåne. [2]

The cast is led by Julia Ragnarsson and Erik Enge and also includes Simon J Berger, Torkel Petersson, Per Ragnar, Linus James Nilsson, Anna Granath, Emelie Garbers and Henrik Norlén.[3]

Broadcast[edit]

It appeared on Viaplay's Australian partners SBS On Demand in March 2024.[1] In April 2024, rights for the series were acquired in France by Polar+,[4] and in the United Kingdom by the BBC.[5]
