History

Shaanxi Guesthouse, also known as Shaanxi Zhangbagou Guesthouse, is located in Zhangbagou, the southern suburb of Xi'an, adjacent to the central business district of Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and is a garden-style state guesthouse for receiving both national and international high profile officials plus large-scale conferences. In July 2006, it was awarded the AAAAA-level "China Green Hotel" status by the China Hotel Association.

From September 22 to September 24, 2011, the 2011 Eurasian Economic Forum was held in Xi'an. Shaanxi Guesthouse was the main reception unit, receiving Sergey Tereshchenko, former Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Samvel Balasanyan Vice Chancellor of the Republic of Armenia , Keat Chhon Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, as well as receiving member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CCP Li Changchun.

Buildings

Shaanxi Guesthouse covers an area of ​​75 hectares, with a construction area of ​​330,000 square meters and a lake area of ​​54,000 square meters. Shaanxi Guesthouse has close to 2,000 guest rooms, and more than 13 restaurants, including a banquet hall for a thousand people gathering and private rooms. In addition, there are Grant Meeting Hall, Grant Ceremony Hall as well as more than 100 conference rooms, reception halls, and multifunctional halls. The Wellness center including Board game and card rooms, gymnasium, indoor swimming pools, KTV halls, SPA & Wellness centers, tennis courts, beauty salons, shopping district, etc. The main buildings of Shaanxi Guesthouse are:

• Zhangba Lake: Extends from the southeast to the northwest of the Shaanxi Guesthouse.
• Buildings #1, 2, 3, 4, 5: These are all villa-style buildings built in 1958. Building 1 has received party and state leaders such as Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Hu Jintao, as well as many foreign dignitaries. Each building is equipped with water treatment systems, automatic temperature control systems, and security monitoring systems. The five buildings are located in the south side to the Zhangba Lake, with Building 1 located on the south side of the convention hall, Buildings 2 and 3 located southwest of Building 1, and Buildings 4 and 5 located southeast of Building 1.
• Building 6: Located west of Building 4.
• Buildings 7, 8, 9: Built in 1964. They have hosted party and state leaders including Prime Minister Zhou Enlai and Zhu De. The layout of each building is elegant with spacious banquet halls for various types of events including weddings. Buildings 7 and 8 are located in the southwest. Building 7 is connected to the west with Xiyuan Building, and Building 7 and Xiyuan Building are interconnected with Restaurant 7 from the west.
