Draft:Seán Ó Dálaigh

  • Comment: We don't refer to people by first name only (which I assume 'Seán' is?); please change to full name, last name only, or personal pronoun. DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:00, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment: I cannot verify ref #5 as it isn't online and isn't cited with sufficient detail, but the others are insufficient to establish notability per WP:GNG. And if he has only written two books, neither of which appears to be notable, then it seems highly unlikely that he is notable per WP:AUTHOR, either, although happy to be proven wrong on that. John "An Common Noun" Daly (1861 — 1940) known as Seán (Seaghán) Ó Dálaigh (pronounced [ʃaːn̪ˠ d̪ˠaːl̪ˠə]) was an Irish author and schoolmaster in the Dingle Peninsula Gaeltacht.[1][2]

Seán Ó Dálaigh was a schoolmaster in Dunquin. Among his students were Irish language authors Peig Sayers and Pádraig ua Maoileoin.[3][4] Seán Ó Dálaigh is the schoolmaster Peig Sayers writes about in her biography Peig.[5][6]

Seán Ó Dálaigh was himself an Irish language author. He published Clocha Sgáil (1906) and Timcheall Chinn Sléibhe (1933).[1][4][7]

Seán Ó Dálaigh was the father of noted Irish folklorist Seosamh Ó Dálaigh.[1][2]
