History[edit]

Beginning (Early 2019)[edit]

The RB Battles YouTube channel was created on 2019, and it would regularly upload videos where RussoPlays, SabrinaBrite, and DJ Monopoli compete within Roblox to win Robux prizes. Each video would feature a challenge that takes place in a select Roblox game and has rules determined by the contestants themselves. The winner of a video's challenge would receive a predetermined amount of Robux, and got to choose an embarrassing consequence for the losing contestants to do. The intro and effects within the videos used a similar style as the one from the videos of BFGF Battles, a YouTube channel also run by RussoPlays, SabrinaBrite, and DJ Monopoli.

RB Battles began allowing Roblox YouTubers and other popular Robloxians to participate in its videos, beginning with Poke and Tofuu in 'POKE AND TOFUU BATTLE IT OUT FOR 50,000 ROBUX!'. The video was published on March 17, 2019.

First championship season (Late 2019)[edit]

Later in 2019, RB Battles would make teasers that would eventually lead to a major event series called the RB Battles Championship. The first teaser was posted on the RB Battles Twitter account on June 8, 2019, being a simple message string followed by symbols and emoji. RB Battles will then reveal the design for the RB Battles Championship logo, a tournament bracket for RB Battles Season 1 with all 16 contestants blurred out, and the trophy for the winner of the tournament. In the days leading up to the tournament, RB Battles would announce one contestant per day until the day before the championships.
