Early Life[edit]
Valorise Bravenstein was born on March 3, 1973, to a new-age jeweler Adele Wells and Josef Bravenstein, a litvak tradesman originally from Kedainiai . Growing up as the eldest of three children, Valorise's early years were marked by constant travel due to her parents' involvement in the counterculture movement. This nomadic lifestyle exposed her to various cultures and challenges, nurturing an early acquaintance with personal and cultural fears.
Education[edit]
Valorise Bravenstein pursued her higher education at the University of Columbia, where she obtained a master's degree in cognitive psychology. Following her master’s degree, she travelled globally, engaging in firsthand research on the diverse fears encountered by people across different cultures. Her journey contributed to her PhD thesis, which, despite its unorthodox approach and controversy, earned her a doctoral degree.
Career[edit]
Valorise Bravenstein’s career was as varied as her early life. She never settled in one place for long, choosing instead to travel extensively, delivering lectures, conducting seminars, and holding private psychotherapy sessions worldwide. She contributed to numerous psychoanalytical and psychological journals, such as The Journal of Individual Psychology, Journal of Anxiety Disorders, and Journal of Traumatic Stress. In her later career, she began to delve into traditional shamanistic rituals from various cultures, integrating these with contemporary psychological practices in preparation for a book intended to revolutionize the understanding and treatment of human fears.
Disappearance[edit]
In the autumn of 2023, Valorise Bravenstein disappeared under mysterious circumstances. She had traveled to Lithuania to perform a series of fear-facing experiments in the dense forests of Dzukija. Valorise had outlined a comprehensive plan of exercises that were intended to serve as the foundation for her upcoming book. After entering the Valkininkai forest, she cut all contact with the outside world and has not been seen or heard from since. Her disappearance, while planned as part of her research, has led to various theories about her fate, ranging from voluntary seclusion to more sinister outcomes.
