Connor McCaffery (born July 13, 1998) is an former American basketball guard who is a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball at Iowa.

Early life and high school[edit]

McCaffery was born in South Bend, Indiana, where his father, Fran Fran McCaffery was an assistant basketball coach at Notre Dame, while his mother, Margaret attended law school. He spent his early childhood there until moving to North Carolina and later to Albany, New York after Fran became the head coach at Siena. He moved with his family to Iowa City, Iowa at age ten when his father was named the head coach at the University of Iowa. Margaret McCaffery held her son, Connor, across the stage with her while she attended her law school graduation.

College career[edit]

McCaffery also played on Iowa's baseball team as a first baseman, left fielder, and right fielder during their 2018 and 2019 seasons. Due to only playing 22 games in the 2 seasons combined, he quit baseball because of injuries and health issues.[1]

Personal life[edit]

McCaffery began dating former Iowa women's basketball and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark in April 2023.[1] His father Fran has coached men's basketball at Lehigh, UNC Greensboro, and Siena, and currently coaches at Iowa.[1]
