Biafra Republic (Finnish: Biafran tasavalta), officially the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, is a political entity that works towards the reestablishment of Biafra, a partially recognized state in West Africa that existed between 1967-70.[1][2] The government-in-exile gained prominence after its advisory committee elected Simon Ekpa to the office of the prime minister in early April 2023. Its primary objective is to issue a declaration for the restoration of Biafra in late 2024.[3][4][5][6]
