Badr Al Shibani (Arabic: بدر الشيباني) is a Saudi adventurer, explorer, and entrepreneur who climbed the Seven Summits, the highest mountain peaks on each continent.[1] In 2022, he became the sixth Saudi to scale Mount Everest.

Biography[edit]

Badr holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from King Saud University, an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Business Management and an EMBA from London Business School.[2]

Expeditions[edit]

Badr kicked off his quest to complete the Seven Summits challenge in 2015 by ascending Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Seven years in the making, the ultimate dream for every mountaineer was finally achieved when he climbed Mount Denali in Alaska shortly after conquering the world’s tallest summit, Mount Everest.[1]

In 2023, he concluded a 500-km trek from Mecca to Medina to retrace the Hijrah, a migration journey undertaken by Prophet Muhammad along with his companion Abu Bakr.[3]

Badr successfully completed an excursion to the geographic South Pole, located 9,301 feet above sea level in Antarctica in January 2024.[4]
