Draft:5,000,000 złotych note

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 5,000,000 złotych bill was a formal banknote only used once during the third banknote series, but was never issued. It features Józef Piłsudski and the text "PIĘĆ MILIONÓW ZŁOTYCH" ("FIVE MILLION ZŁOTY" in English.) on the obverse, and on the reverse it shows a cross with the Polish eagle in it and some other Congress Poland symbols. It was the largest-valued banknote during the series, and is mostly green.

Background[edit]

Józef Piłsudski was a professional statesman, famous for being the First Marshal Of Poland, Poland's Chief Of State, a great millitary general, and forgaining independence for Poland.

Congress Poland was a Polish polity created by the Congress Of Vienna, a successor of Napoleon's Duchy Of Warsaw, made peacefully in 1815.

History[edit]

The 5,000,000 złotych bill was first printed at the last year of the third banknote series in 1995. It was the largest-valued banknote at the time, after the 2,000,000 złotych bill. (featuring Igancy Jan Paderewski.) The note is still remembered, though, because Andzrej Heidrich made a 20 złotych bill with the same formula.[1]

Details[edit]

Obverse[edit]

On the top, it features the text "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA," ("REPUBLIC OF POLAND" in English.) and a green swallowtail with light green leaves. (There is an X-shaped part at the right, and is extra-light green.) Below the swallowtail is a green shade similar to the X-shaped part, which passes through the middle of a very large number. (Stylized without commas or periods.) The number is in a brownish-grayish font. To the bottom-left of the number, is the serial number of the bill. (Above shows the serial number being AT 0000048.) Below the serial number is a symbol of Narodowy Bank Polski, which looks like two cursive uppercase Rs.

To the top right of the symbol is the text "PIĘĆ MILIONÓW ZŁOTYCH," ("FIVE MILLION ZŁOTY" in English.) with the złotych part being slightly smaller. (Same font as the number.) Below that is where and when the bill was made. (Above shows the date / text "WARSZAWA, 12 MAJA 1995 r.") ["WARSAW, 12 MAY 1995" in English.] Below is the Polish eagle in a cornflower blue circle, inside of a patterned blue shape, inside of the same shape but yellow and green. To the bottom left, is the large number but slightly smaller and dark blue. To the right is the same serial number. (The exact same thing.) To the top is the text "GŁÓWNY SKARBNIK NARODOWEGO BANKU POLSKIEGO," (CHIEF TREASURER OF THE NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND" in English.) and above is the text "PREZES NARODOWEGO BANKU POLSKIEGO." ("PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND" in English.)

To the bottom right of the bill is the text "REPLIKA PROJEKTU BANKNOTU NIE WPROWADZONEGO DO OBIEGU." ("REPLICA OF A BANKNOTE PROJECT NOT ENTERED INTO CIRCULATION" in English.) [Shows that the banknote was never issued.] Finally, on the right of the bill, is a very large portrait of Józef Klemens Piłsudski, (With shading.) and the text "JÓZEF PIŁSUDSKI." ("JOSEPH PIŁSUDSKI" in English.)

Reverse[edit]

On the top, it features the text "NARODOWY BANK POLSKI," ("NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND" in English.) and to the top right of the bill is the text "NAKŁAD 7 500 SZTUK." ("CIRCULATION 7,500 PIECES" in English.) To the bottom of that is the large number in dark blue font. Below where it says narodowy, is a Congress Poland Polish eagle sitting on a nest that has an S. (Outlined with small ridges.) Below is another Polish symbol, and below that is the large number mixed with yellowish-gray on the left, and cornflower blue on the right. Above is the Royal Standard of the 1st Jaeger Regiment, inside of a blue-patterned banner.

To the bottom right is the same text pięć milionów złotych, and above reads "BANKNOTY EMITOWANE PRZEZ NARODOWY BANK POLSKI SĄ PRAWNYM ŚRODKIEM PŁATNICZYM W POLSCE." ("BANKNOTES ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL BANK OF POLAND ARE LEGAL TENDER IN POLAND" in English.) Above is another symbol of Congress Poland. And finally, to the bottom right, is the official signature of Narodowy Bank Polski in golden yellow.

Background and style[edit]

The background on the obverse of the 5,000,000 złotych bill is mostly a dull green, (#B6c5b1[2] to be exact.) and a slightly dull yellow. (#Ebdd65[3] to be exact.) The swallowtail is a mid green, (#6bb53f[4] to be exact.) and the loop is a very light green. (#9cf567[5] to be exact.) #6faec7 blue and #6aa3ba blue are used in the middle, inside of a #b6c5b1 and #ebdd65 coat of arms shape-look.

The background on the reverse uses pretty much the same colors, and has the style of the flag of, (the closest, and I do not know at all.) Warmia-Masuria.

Security features[edit]

Watermark[edit]

On both sides, (above the yellow N.B.P. signature on the reverse, and on the obverse hidden under the two cursive Rs.) there is a watermark of a West Pomeranian griffin.
