the freight train was a Canadian National Railway Company halting 45 hopper car 25 tanker car 44 auto rack 33 box car and 1 caboose the freight train was traveling to the Swiss bridge to the Cajon Pass the main plan was to switch to track 17 to avoid going on track 18 but instead the switch was on track 18

the disaster[edit]

at 01:12 the freight train is nearing the bridge while that there was traffic on the Swiss bridge there were 6 car 4 truck 3 van 2 oversized truck at 01:13 the freight train goes on track 18 and then the driver of the freight train does not worry then the freight train driver sees 2 pillars very close to the tracks then the driver slams the brakes but hits the 2 pillars the only thing that the sound was the pillars destroyed but then the sound changed to the bridge collapsing with the vehicle's on it 5 died when their vehicle's on the bridge and 6 died later In the hospital 5 where injured

after math[edit]

the tracks were covered by vehicle's

cause[edit]

there were 2 things that caused it first of the switch at track 17 had to be switched to track 18 due to Rolling Contact Fatigue and the pillars were placed by BNSF do to problems 1 year later the bridge was scrapped because the bridge was no longer buildable do to the parts falling apart
