Charik is a village in Moga district of Punjab, India. It is one of the largest villages of Punjab by population. Shaheed Baba Khushaal Singh Ji died in a battle of Sikhism in earlier history.Charik is been famous for its Animal market ( Pashu mandi) throughout the years. This village has given birth to so many famous Kabaddi players. First Punjabi to be in Newzealand was from Charik named as Phomen/Phuman Singh. Several people from Charik had served in Jaito da morcha leaded by Jeeta Singh and Dhian Singh. This village is proud to give birth to martyrs like Lakhveer Singh who loose their life in kargil. Charik was Hub of all villages in the centre. It is one of the most famous villages of Moga District.

Charik is approximately centered at 30°43′12″N 75°10′19″E / 30.72000°N 75.17194°E / 30.72000; 75.17194.[2] It is located 10 km towards South from District headquarters Moga. 173 km from State capital Chandigarh

History[edit]

Before 1947 it was part of princely state Kalsia. Shaheed Baba Khushaal Singh Ji died in a battle of Sikhism in earlier history.
