Chance is a 2020 American drama film directed by John B. Crye and starring Matthew Modine.[2][3] It is based on the true story of Chance Smith, a teenager from Ohio who killed himself.[4] It is also Crye's feature directorial debut.[5]

Release[edit]

The film was originally scheduled to be released in limited theaters in Ohio and Kentucky on April 9, 2020.[9] However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was officially released on May 22, 2020 at the Starlite Drive In in Amelia, Ohio.[1]
