Winning authors, winning books[edit]

Should this be renamed from "... Winners ..." to "... winning books ..." (lowercase)? See Category talk:National Book Award Winners - Young People's Literature. --P64 (talk) 22:55, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yesterday it was renamed/moved from Category:National Book Award Winners - Fiction to Category:National Book Award for Fiction winning works following a proposal one week earlier, Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2012 February 11#Award-winning books. --P64 (talk) 23:55, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Report on coverage[edit]

Following the category rename, today I checked all the category members against our lists of winners. After a couple of category corrections, we now have

56 articles in this category (automatically reported on the Category page)
20 Fiction winners without wikipedia articles (manual count)
75 Fiction winners whose articles evidently belong here (manual count) --namely 75=68+7; in turn 68 award-years 1936:1941 and 1950:2011 and 7 dual awards 1973:75 (split) and 1980:83 (hardcover & paperback).

If my errorprone counts are correct then the category contains one article that is not about a Fiction NBA-winning work. I don't see list of winners in the category, nor any "no award" in the annual history. --P64 (talk) 00:05, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For a while I had one User page in the category.
With 55 articles in the category, the numbers are consistent. 55+20=75
That information remains current afaik. The category is complete; we have articles on 55 of 75 award-winning books thru 2011. --P64 (talk) 20:09, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
