What's the difference between a "music journal" and a "music magazine"?[edit]

There are categories for both Category:Music magazines and Category:Music journals. I don't understand the difference. Jason Quinn (talk) 18:32, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The difference is that between magazines and academic journals. --Crusio (talk) 18:35, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Then I propose we add a category description of "scholarly music periodicals" and "non-scholary music periodicals" or something similar. Presently, it seems that the categories are contaminated with entries because the difference isn't clear enough. Jason Quinn (talk) 19:32, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Good change. I'm not too optimistic that it'll help though, preciously few people seem to check cats with which they are not familiar before adding them... --Crusio (talk) 03:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perspectives of New Music[edit]

Is there a reason Perspectives of New Music is not included? Thanks.

Because it's in the categories Category:Music theory journals and Category:Contemporary classical music journals which are both subcategories of this category, so that would be redundant. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:40, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
