2006[edit]

I noticed that there are a few pages not joined to the main roleplaying games section, including this category. I was thinking of adding this category to Category:Role-playing_games.

Unless there are any objections I'll do it in the next week or so when I have some more spare time. --TenguTech 14:25, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are many gaming conventions that don't have any roleplaying, like Historicon. There are also gaming conventions that don't have a primary focus, like Gen Con. I think leaving it under just Games and Conventions would make more sense.
If there were a critical mass of conventions listed that have a primary focus on one type of gaming, then subcategories would be a good idea. Historicon, for example, might wind up under "Category:Miniatures convention", which would have "Category:Miniature wargaming" and "Category:Gaming convention". I just don't think there's enough entries to justify splitting it up further at this time. (Is there a recommended minimum size before starting a category?) --Parody 03:59, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
hmm. Ok I see that this category caters to both RPG and other gaming conventions. So adding it to Cat RPG may not be the thing to do.
Just noticed that there are a number of RPG conventions listed in this category and no link to it from the RPG section. Maybe the RPG section needs to list this category as an also see under Events (or something like that). There are conventions listed here but not listed under Events.
Was thinking of starting to add pages on Australian RPG conventions and not quite sure what category to put them in. There only being a few Melbourne cons list, none for other parts of Australia. And then working out what is enough for a page about the convention. (But I think this maybe getting side tracked). --TenguTech 13:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mentioning that RPGs are played at many gaming, science fiction, and multigenre conventions is a good way to go.
If a convention's primary focus is gaming, I'd put them under Gaming Convention even if they only play one kind or another. Most convention entries here are nothing more than a blurb about the convention and a link to its website. --Parody 21:40, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Con of the North has been redirected in lieu of deletion[edit]
