I'm wondering about the utility of this category. It seems like the number of plants that constitute a food source for some bird species somewhere is probably astronomical - likely in the hundreds of thousands. As a result, the category could quickly become bloated and useless, containing a majority of seed-bearing plants. The restriction in the intro to "native species" doesn't help; all plant species are native to somewhere. Am I overestimating avian herbivory, or should this cat perhaps be nipped in the bud, as it were, before too much time is invested in it?
