Districts[edit]

This category is very incomplete. I've added both Matson and Hucclecote to it and I will add a list of districts here that are presently entirely absent from Wikipedia.

Here are a list of Gloucester's wards: Gloucestershire County Council web site. Only Quedgeley is a parish, so that eliminates the question of whether to cover parishes or wards, then! Behind The Wall Of Sleep 20:24, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that, I've updated the list of articles to be worked on. There are two problem areas: Quedgeley and Hucclecote. Arawn 01:28, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In addition (thanks to anon IP for finding it) the city council has a list of "areas" with an accompanying map. I don't know that all 26 warrant articles in their own right, but it's a list to stimulate discussion. Also I suspect there will be areas with no social housing and hence not included in the list. I found the map very helpful for some of the less well known ones I have to say! Gloucester City Council Housing Areas Map Behind The Wall Of Sleep (talk) 10:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Articles to be written[edit]

Both of these places are already linked to from existing pages.

Tuffley
Tredworth (consider redirecting this to an article about both Barton and Tredworth as Barton St Mary is presently included in Tredworth for police and local government concerns)

As per discussion at Talk:Gloucester#Districts_of_Gloucester, we should form articles by electoral ward.
Two problems with this are: Quedgeley which is a parish with two separate wards and already has an article. Hucclecote is both a suburban area of Gloucester (indeed, the greater area of Hucclecote is this suburb) but it is also an adjacent parish in, and electoral ward in, Tewkesbury.

Here are a list of wards.

Westgate, Gloucester

Tuffley

Podsmead

Moreland, Gloucester

Matson and Robinswood - see Matson, Gloucester

Longlevens

Kingsholm and Wotton

Hucclecote

Grange, Gloucester

Elmbridge (Gloucester)

Barton and Tredworth

Barnwood

Abbey, Gloucester - see Abbeymead

Possible articles[edit]

Kingsway is a very large new suburb of Gloucester beyond Quedgeley and Tuffley. Suggest that any article created be called Kingsway, Gloucester. Additionally I think Upton St. Leonards will merit an article - it's between Matson, Abbeydale and Abbeymead and very much part of the City, just happens to be in Stroud District. Alex McKee (talk) 00:46, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kingsway is essentially a large scale development. I feel that it does not deserve an article in its own right, but should be included within the article on Quedgely; as, to the best of my knoledge, it is included in the Parish of quedgely. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.111.53.147 (talk) 23:35, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Eventually Kingsway may become a more well defined area in it's own right. For now, though, I think you're right and the area isn't notable enough to warrant it's own article. Alex McKee (talk) 02:53, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We could review the situation when residents outnumber JCBs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.2.123.54 (talk) 23:12, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, residents of Kingsway are in the thousands now. A Kingsway article exists - just updating this discussion so anyone interested can find it. Alex McKee (talk) 20:45, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
