Art category[edit]

If it were not for Architecture, this cat would not be in the Art cat. Oh well. -- Fplay 00:08, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of applied science and fields included[edit]

"Applied science is the use or the study of the use of scientific knowledge to develop technology.", if accurate, is far too restrictive for the inclusion of the various engineering fields, or medicine. The purpose of maintenance, for instance, cannot remotely be "... to develop technology".

I suggest the definition is looked at. It may well be a reasonable one, but if we stick to it then many of the fields currently listed should be struck off the "applied science" list.
