The Imperial Yeomanry was a volunteer Mounted infantry force raised for service in the Second Boer War 1900–02. It was organised as companies formed into battalions. Many companies were sponsored by Yeomanry Cavalry regiments. From 1901 to 1908 all Home-based Yeomanry cavalry regiments were designated 'Imperial Yeomanry', and new regiments were raised.
