The Gerry family, which was prominent nationally, as well as in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, was a political family that included a Vice President of the United States, Governor, U.S. Senator, several U.S. Representatives, and state politicians. They are also known for their involvement with horse-breeding and racing.

Members of the Gerry family married into other prominent families, including the Harriman, Goelet, and Livingston families.
