Bavette (Italian: [baˈvette]) are a type of pasta. They are a ribbon noodle narrower than tagliatelle, with a cross-section like flattened spaghetti, similar to linguine.[1] This type of pasta originated in Genoa, Italy, and is the most typical Ligurian[2] pasta shape.[3] Bavette is arguably one of the more ancient types of long pasta.[4] The dish is frequently paired with traditional pesto sauces, but also pairs well with vegetables.[3]
