Avalon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. Survey and Plat made for AVALON BEACH COMPANY, Avalon, Florida. Permanent reference monuments at corners marked thusly within Control Survey. Recorded in Plat Book A Pages 1 to 10 Records of Santa Rosa County, Florida. (Date: September 19, 1925)

The current population of Avalon is 964 based on projections of the latest US Census estimates. The latest official 2020 census recorded the population at 590. [1]

Its population was 679 as of the 2010 census.[1] Interstate 10 passes through the community.

Geography[edit]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community has an area of 4.146 square miles (10.74 km2); 3.847 square miles (9.96 km2) of its area is land, and 0.299 square miles (0.77 km2) is water. It is known to have a rainy climate starting in the months of May and June and ending in October. The average temp is around 70 °F or 21 °C. The land contains small hills and small ponds.[1]
