Anthony Colandrea is an American football quarterback who plays for the Virginia Cavaliers.

Early life and high school[edit]

Colandrea was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida where he attended Lakewood High School. In Colandrea's high school career, he completed 508 out of his 812 pass attempts for 7,311 yards and 60 touchdowns to 24 interceptions. Colandrea also rushed for 1,021 yards 11 touchdowns, while also hauling in four receptions for 68 yards.[1] Colandrea would decide to commit to play college football at the University of Virginia.[2][3]

College career[edit]

Colandrea made his first career start in week two after starting quarterback Tony Muskett went down with an injury. In his first start, Colandrea completed 20 of his 26 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, but the Cavaliers would fall to James Madison 36-35.[4][5] For his performance on the game, Colandrea was named the ACC freshman of the week.[6][7] Colandrea has made three starts as a true freshman for Virginia in 2023.[8]
