Éxodo is the upcoming fourth studio album by Mexican singer Peso Pluma, which is set to release in 2024. It will succeed his third studio album Génesis, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and will contain songs in different music genres apart from regional Mexican music.[1]

Originally promoted through the announcement of its accompanying tour, the album was revealed during an interview with Rolling Stone, where he also became the first Mexican artist to be on their front cover. "Peso Completo" with Arcángel will serve as one of the album's singles and is currently the only confirmed collaboration within it.

Background[edit]

During an interview with Rolling Stone, where he also became the first regional Mexican artist to be on the cover of their magazine, he talked about winning his first Grammy for his successful album Génesis and revealed his next album title while regarding the rumors about his breakup with Nicki Nicole, to which he did not want to talk about:

Well, the last few weeks have been really crazy. People are always going to have something to say about what I’m doing and creating their own narrative. But the reality is, all these days, I’ve been in the studio working on Éxodo.[2]

Concept[edit]

Regarding Éxodo, he explained to Rolling Stone that the album will contain other genres apart from regional Mexican music, and that it is a direct response to the media:

[On Génesis] people already saw the good side, the superhero side. But I think this year, they’re going to know a darker side. There’s going to be a lot of things about why we do what we do, and why we sing what we do, why people pit us against each other, why media always look for bad things, why people focus more on the negatives than the positives.

I want it to be a surprise for everyone. I’m focusing on fine-tuning all the details, but there’s going to be a lot of flavors, not only of regional Mexican music.[3]

Promotion[edit]

Peso Pluma would announce his second headlining and the album's accompanying tour of the same name on February 2024, which is set to have an "all-new show, inclusive of a fully reimagined set design and setlist."[4] Following the announcement of the tour, as well as the singles "La People II" and "Humo", "Peso Completo" with Arcángel would be released on 11 April 2024, as a single from Éxodo.[5]
