Judith Rodin wrote a book, "The University & Urban Revival", that specifically cites Moez's death as a principal factor in her decision to take "unprecedented action" to make West Philadelphia safer. The Alexander school is the most dramatic of these actions.

A 1995 City Paper article says that students were frightened out of West Philadelphia to Center City by the murder.

Discussed in “Becoming Penn: The Pragmatic American University, 1950-2000” (John L. Puckett, Mark Frazier Lloyd) but I have not seen what it says.
