What is the original source/-s of this legend/account? --Anaccuratesource (talk) 23:27, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Completely bogus?[edit]

The page http://thegreatlosttreasure.info/Page16.html (linked at Talk:Cocos_Island#Piracy_and_hidden_treasures) claims that "The Spaniards ... walked off unmolested with plate and money to the amount of many millions of dollars" three weeks after Lima’s independence, giving as a source "Lord Cochrane’s diary for the 19th of August 1821". Further "at no time had the Cathedral" (of Lima) "ever been plundered", according to treasure-hunting books by "Lieutenant Harry E. Rieseberg". Can anyone check these original sources? 2A02:810D:14C0:68E8:E541:D3F1:D60F:1513 (talk) 00:11, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
