Photo deletion[edit]

It seems to me that a photo of an actual Model 28, as opposed to advertising sketches, is a valuable addition to this article. Note that the photo (File:Teletype Model 28 NYTM.jpg) that was deleted[1] has enough resolution to read all the keys on the keyboard, as well as other details that are not included in the sketches. I appreciate the effort being put into creating this article, but please see WP:OWN. --agr (talk) 22:34, 3 May 2012 (UTC)::[reply]

The problem is that particular Model 28 KSR has no paper installed, a missing indicator light lens (155083) and the left and right label set windows (154198) and instruction labels (151376) are missing. It could also use a good cleaning. Definitely not a museum quality printer, no matter where it is exhibited. However, I see you point about needing a better picture of the Model 28 keyboard (and possibly the typing unit).Wa3frp (talk) 23:52, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Added a picture of the KSR keyboard. I'll work on producing a picture of the internals of a Model 28 ASR next. Wa3frp (talk) 05:20, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I still think photographs of the overall unit(s) are desirable. While I tend to agree with your fair use claim for old advertisements from a defunct company, you are pushing the envelope on Wikipedia copyright policy, and other, less permissive views may prevail. The new keyboard photo is a good addition, but since we're being perfectionists here, could you consider reshooting it with less glare? And since its your own photo, maybe upload it to commons.wikimedia.org instead, so other Wikipedias can use it. --agr (talk) 12:35, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
