delta-one-five[edit]

Doesn't look better than δ15? Kope (talk) 19:13, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, in some cases it might, but in others it might not. The problem is that the PNG images don't scale with your font size. Try doing a few ctrl + or ctrl - in a row to see what I mean. The PNGs also tend to mess up line spacing more than the HTML. Hopefully there'll someday be a better LaTeX rendering engine than the current PNG-based one, but in the current environment the Math WikiProject has come to a consensus to avoid inline LaTeX except where it's really unavoidable. (LaTeX on a line by itself is fine.) --Trovatore (talk) 19:20, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually ctrl plusses and minusses did not cause scale problems (except that the first version was always a little too large). The point is probably is that my eyes are more hurt by the subscript on the wrong place then by a too large or too small formula. I am aware of the consensus you mentioned and try to follow it.
