want to know the ancient history of Ruhrort. Or Ruhr river . is the river name came out from any ancient king and is it any record of the town in B.C. dates. Try to find out the caste "Ror" in India which came from Indo-europeon time Or "Indo-Aryan" time. Because some people's says Aryan came to India from German or from europe . But according to Indian history something else.

"Ror" caste history in India start from b.c. Ruhrort Ruh+Ror+t is there any meaning of Ruh in German ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruru ror (talkcontribs) 06:31, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, the river hasn't anything to do with a caste in India or Aryans ^^. The name of the city derives from "Ruhr" i.e. the river and "Ort" which means place. So it just says "a place oder settlement at the river Ruhr. The origin of the name Ruhr remains unclear. Maybe something Celtic.

Neat Little Village[edit]

"Ruhrort nowadays lacks the grimy air of a port district and is a neat little village with narrow streets, small parks and some fine cafes."

This is bullshit. this is no village. And it is not neat. Maybe the promenade along the harbor is nice. But u'll hardly find two cafes there. And the rest is offices, accomodations or just looks sad.

But hey there's a radio museum, no word about that. I don't wanna scare away tourists but u gotta stay honest.
