Retired?[edit]

Here's a current article that has QK presiding over a case:

In California, retired judges are routinely appointed to hear cases because of the court backlog. In addition, they can hear (civil and family law) cases as a private adjudicator hired by the parties. --MCB (talk) 07:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

High Speed Rail[edit]

The High speed rail section is highly biased against rail. It seems to be from the point of view of someone who is dissatisfied with the rail initiative. There is only negative information in a relatively small section, no real info. There are no sources sited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.202.142.130 (talk) 04:59, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that too and made some adjustments. --68.107.66.235 (talk) 06:19, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a bit more sourced detail about Kopp's smooth moves with CHSPRA this year. Still trying to find more news sources on this though.CriticalChris 02:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To whomever placed the neutrality tag, where's the beef? I'm inclined to remove it, absent further discussion, as it weakens the overall article. CriticalChris 17:48, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As a Senator Kopp pursued controversial bill SB1788, the right to tow vehicles[edit]

As a Senator Kopp when he was in office he sponsored a controversial legislation which passed in California and by former Assemblyman Richard Katz[1] passed in 1996 SB 1758[2] & AB3148[3] which allowed tow companies from allover the State to tow on a suspended licenses and impound vehicles for 30 days and charge whatever impounding fee they choose. In most cases the fees being so high after 30 days, most people can't afford to get their vehicles back, end up losing them. The tow companies love this legislation as it allows them to take advantage of California drivers and make a huge profit because of this legislation. The idea to take vehicle for 30 days and keep it then charge whatever fee you wish took 7 years to get it passed as was heavily funded by the auto insurance industry. This particular legislation was and still is a major money making for towing companies accross the state and still have numerous opposition to repeal it.

As a Senator, Kopp showed a lot of anti motorcyclists during time in office[edit]

Kopp also as a Senator formerly showed a lot of anti motorcyclists interests on many issues including the infamous California motorcycle helmet law and opposed[4] every repeal effort to kill the legislation. Kopp posed to kill any legislation to weaken or repeal the helmet law. He also refused private meetings with sponsors with expert witnesses to repeal the law. He was unwilling to listen but assumed from himself he knew the law without hearing testimony the helmet law was also misguided. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.93.235.202 (talk) 00:17, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missing elements[edit]

This article needs an infobox as well as elements showing election results if available. I don't have time to put an infobox in right now, but if someone else could get around to it that would be great. Otherwise I'll come back when I have more time and put one in. removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 02:51, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
