Isn't this normally called batch learning? Offline learning was defined in 1997 to be a transductive form of online learning. See the paper "Online versus Offline Learning". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.6.23.7 (talk) 22:29, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Offline learning describes human robot interaction[edit]

  • if the parameters of the model are given before the robot is activated, its called offline learning [1]
  • robot behavior learning with neural network. The wall following behavior is provided offline which means before the robot gets activated [2]
  • offline learning = slow and not efficient [2]
  • Robot learning-by-demonstration, offline learning: distinction between demonstration and skill replay [3]
  • The human demonstrates an action, and then the robot learns offline the objective function [4]
