Deliberate split[edit]

This article was deliberately split off from Nursing home care because the original article had become too US-Centric. The "United Kingdom" part included what little is on the previous page. Student7 (talk) 19:22, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Personally-funded care[edit]

The existing article only covers care home residents that are fully or partly funded by the state. For example To enter a care home, a candidate patient needs an assessment of needs and of their financial condition from their local council. If a patient is entirely self-funded or is funded by his or her family then presumably these assessments are not required. Please expand the article to cover this.
