BLP1E[edit]

This seems to be a pretty strong case of WP:BLP1E (except she's no longer living). Since it seems like nothing is known about her apart from the appointment controversy, is there a suitable merge target perhaps? And by the way, 3/4 of an article being quotes is ridiculous; that's no way to write an article. Paraphrase! Key points! Rd232 talk 22:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It could be fleshed out a bit more from the RTE blurb. However I would still think we have an article on a minor local (as in, did not receive attention outside the country it happened) scandal, and I am unsure of its encyclopedic significance. O Fenian (talk) 22:38, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've fleshed it out a bit - she did attempt to become a Methodist minister, which would have been unusual at the time. The article is mostly about the Mayo librarian controversy, true, but the controversy itself is significant in the context of the history of religion in the Republic of Ireland and Church/State relations.Autarch (talk) 20:44, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
