Untitled[edit]

I notice that my title name was listed as "Joseph hilbe" rather than "Joseph Hilbe", with capitalized initial letters. How would one change "hilbe" to "Hilbe"? Whoever researched and edited my bio did an excellent job. Thanks. Joseph Hilbe

Yes, it appears Wikipedia has deleted as many as 50 "external links" that I submitted in order to be helpful but editors have concluded they were not put up correctly... When I found my biography on Wikipedia some time ago, it needed minor corrections. I updated it a bit to reflect recent awards, and added the picture and summary inset at the suggestion of some folks who thought it would help those who are researching contemporary statisticians. From what I understand the site has been accessed quite frequently. /s/ J Hilbe

No information changed from what was posted by others from bio at ASU and other sites (recently changed deparments; bio to be reposted to that site in near future). When I saw it I made a couple of corrections which were verified by Wikipedia many months ago. All that was added here was an insert with picture upon suggestions of some who accessed the page. Will simply have others make such amendments in future if they want. However, in this case I had the picture. Is editor requesting that the subject bio be returned to form it was previous to addition of insert and picture? I have no problem with this of course. /s/ J Hilbe

Reference #2 was outdated and not operable due to the ASU Dept. of Sociology being subsumed under another program. Full time and adjunct faculty addresses and profiles/Bios only recently posted on the web site now listed. /s/ J Hilbe

Response to editor: The Department of Sociology was recently submumed, together with other departments, under the School of Social and Family Dynamics. Sociology was made into a program within the school. As such, it no longer has a separate web site. Due to the larger size of the unit, Adjunct professors, faculty adjuncts, and affiliated faculty are now listed separately on the School of SFD web site. My listing was transferred from the Sociology faculty web site to the new listing, together with bio information. The bio listing is the same as always, with yearly updates as new publications, talks, presentations, etc. occur. Statistics textbooks can be referenced by accessing www.amazon.com. Most academic items can be referenced by www.amstat.org and atheltics by www.usatf.org and http://www.usatf.org/statistics/champions/USAOutdoorTF/men/mPent.asp . The tag was put on as a result of the inclusion of a picture. /s/ J Hilbe

See paragraph directly above. Now have added thorough references. Removed More References Needed tag since I added what was requested. I have no intention to add anything more to this bio, which was not initiated by me, and which was subsequently rewritten by an editor. I added some publication additions and updated to include ASA Fellow and Athletic Hall of Fame. I also added a picture at the suggestion of a reader - which precipitated requests for additional references. Again, any future updates will be done by others. /s/ J Hilbe
