The article should not be merged. Jitney Jungle was a real grocery store chain in the South. I intend to document at least some of the basic facts about Jitney Jungle over the next few days. --Tkynerd 14:26, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I've now set down some basic facts about the chain based on a little Web research and my own knowledge of the chain from growing up with it in Mississippi. I will provide references over the next day or two. I have also ordered a publication that provides a history of the chain up to the early 1970s, so I hope to be able to expand this article somewhat once I get that. --Tkynerd 01:01, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
