Infogrames take-over[edit]

The article says Infogrames bought Humongous Entertainment in November 1999 but I have a box of Blue's Birthday published by Infogrames which says 1998, same for a jewel case Blue's ABC Time Activities. So was HE bought in 1998 already or is that just a later edition and it was first published by GT Interactive? Or a simple mistake? Or referring to something else? ;-) -- Darklock 15:19, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh.. and a box of Blue's 123 Time Activities that says copyrighted in 1999 (for the game) and 2002 (for Blue's Clues in general, so probably published in that year), that does not fit in there either, it should be Atari and not Infogrames (USA). -- Darklock 15:30, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion[edit]

This article is definitely a stub, I don't know enough about the company to fix it, but the timeline is really confusing. Which company buys which for how much? And the dates are all different, they're not in order with the titles shipped. It looks like their company was bought for 76 million and then again for 10, its not clear. Peterius (talk) 07:38, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've added the HE logo to the article; it was a screenshot of the title screen from Freddi Fish 3. Hampshire2004 21:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Humongous logo 2006.png[edit]

Image:Humongous logo 2006.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I wish some Atari-marketed versions of the games (including Atari's own Humongous-related ones) will be coming back[edit]

In the main info and the history section, I added info about those games that were marketed and made by Atari, and they're now saying that it is unknown if they will be returning. Can someone please tell me why? I sent Atari a complaint for a faster answer and they didn't reply yet. I wish they will be returning soon... :(

Nimbus Games Takeover?[edit]

It sounds like Nimbus Games bought the rights to Humongous's games (pajama sam, freddi fish, etc.). Should this be mentioned in this article? Nmz502 (talk) 18:53, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Humongous (game developer)Humongous Entertainment – When Tommo purchased Humongous at the Atari bankruptcy auction, they renamed the company Humongous Entertainment. Since that is now the official name of the company, the article title should reflect that. JenniBees (talk) 06:18, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support; also for WP:NATURAL. Red Slash 04:13, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment:Since that is now the official name of the company, the article title should reflect that - No. The move may be valid for other reasons, but the official name bears very little weight under Wikipedia policy on article titles. Most new editors find this surprising, but it's a long standing policy. Andrewa (talk) 08:43, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Agree about WP:NATURAL, and the dev is called the proposed name in the RS occurrences I've found. Should be uncontroversial, no? I am no longer watching this page—whisperback if you'd like a response czar  21:51, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A Gaspocket Adventure: Aliens Ate My Cookies[edit]

Should we add a section explaining the cancelled game "A Gaspocket Adventure: Aliens Ate My Cookies"? 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:C4DF:168A:3F8A:E11C (talk) 07:16, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
