Wikitionary[edit]

This article may be better served on wikitionary instead of wikipedia. Please add more details about why this is notable, and not just a word definition. Thanks! Fcsuper 14:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lot to them. I just don't have the details yet. -AndrewDressel 14:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whose joint?[edit]

According to Bill Gunston's book "World Encyclopaedia of Aero Engines", p.77 (1989, Patrick Stephens Ltd, ISBN 1-85260-163-9) the coupling was devised not by Hellmuth Hirth but Albert Hirth. According to Gunston, Albert was Hellmuth's brother, but the German Wiki has him as Hellmuth's father. Anyone know more? TSRL (talk) 09:10, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Noise[edit]

This addition to the list of disadvantages

"The application of Hirth joing in bicycle crank are prone to creaking due to side-to-side frame flexing."

is problematic for at least two reasons:

  1. There is no reliable source.
  2. The few blog entries on the topic that I can find do not identify the cause.

If a source does exist, please point it out. -AndrewDressel (talk) 19:39, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
