I understand from its website that this company is now called Fortis Insurance Asia. Should the article be renamed? AndrewRT(Talk) 20:50, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CUSTOMER SERVICE OF FORTIS INSURANCE COMPANY ASIA[edit]

Perhaps there should be a section for clents to discuss about their customer service. The UK office has press releases of how they were topping in customer service in 2009. However, the office in HK, that Fortis Insurance Company (Asia) or FICA's customer service at the other end of the spectrum, and is sub standard, bordering on being unprofessional.

After mass resignation at the end of 2009, FICA left many of its clients stranded with dubious products, aand took months before new agents are assigned to the existing clients, whose agents have resigned in the mass resignations in 2009.

Agents of FICA can also decide unilaterally if they do not want to service the clients assigned to them by the company after just a few months when they are unable to handle product enquiries, a sign of incompetence and unprofessionalism on the agent and the company.

The departmental head of their customer service is changed regularly, and effected in less than 2 years in the department, in the pretext of job rotation. This is more likely due to (i) incompetence of the manager (ii) to provide discontinuity where the clients have to start all over each time with a new department head in place wwith their complaints, the new manager, who have no clue of what has happened before, and then takes weeks on end to provide even the simplest of answers and product/investment information.

Poor investment-linked products are recommended to customers (i) with high penalties on exit (ii) high administration charges (iii) high invesment charges with no service provided and where their customer service department is even not qualified to provide financial advise (iv) product taken off in less than 2 years, afterwhich no more service is provided by the company for this, with the reason that the product is no longer offered (v) an unually long term, 30 years wealth investment recommended by the agents and approved by the company, to clients in the late forties/fifties with no exit in sight until the seventies and eighties, shows the type of culture in the company, that is, to offer the product with the highest commission rate to the client despite the unsuitability, even if it is the worst product in the company
