Aarons and Loftus are conspiracy-theory nutcases and this article needs better references. --Zero 15:47, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article is much better now than some months ago so I think it deserves the GA class. It may still be improved, of course, and it will be. JBarreto 00:57, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This article still requires more grammatical consistency (going from past to present tense in the same paragraph). --Dumas 1830 (talk) 12:12, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bishop Alois Hudal or Nazi Alois Hudal?[edit]

This Bishop, who should be listed a member of his Church, appears in the Nuremberg reference I have placed at Hitler and the Church See([1]. I had not placed sufficient importance to the Papen reference to Hudal therein made . It appears that this Bishop unlocks many doors and that Franz von Papen's self-serving use of Hudal implicates Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli.EffK 09:58, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[[2]] suggests Hudal was not a friend of Pacelli's, but when he was or was not remains. The pro-pacelli link suggests the book was pro-nazi even though they banned it. All interesting, and relevant somewhere. But, as always the focus of the Pacelli defence is on the wartime, and focus is lost on the thirties. The Article has Hudal close to von Papen, which is not a surprise, but if Papen is not referring to Pacelli, we may yet see who. There may be an answer that is published-anyone care to look? EffK 19:52, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please source placement or excision his appending of Heil Hitler.EffK 14:04, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that Eichman's passeport was actually delivered by the Red-Cross, and acknowledged by the organization itself, according to a 31/05/2007 press agency report, and published by French TV News website LCI.fr.

That passport was a fake, because it was issued in a false name (Riccardo Klement) by the Red Cross. 89.26.129.161 15:53, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Point of View Dispute[edit]

I am questioning the neutrality per WP:NPOV due to several areas that appear to compromise the encyclopedic nature of Wikipedia. My main points are the uses of the word "so-called" in the section about Resignation and Death. Also, quotes are liberally used throughout in that section such as "so-called 'victims'" although they may have very well been victims in his eyes. Really, the entire article seems heavily biased against his actions as a ratline organizer, instead of being neutral and just stating facts about it. Read it over and think about it. --Brandon (TehBrandon) (talk) 05:13, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alois Hudal and National Socialism[edit]

"Hudal is said to have received a Golden Nazi Party membership badge,[17] but this is disputed." So no positive confirmation? What does it do in the article then?

"In 1937, in Vienna, Hudal published a book entitled The Foundations of National Socialism, with an imprimatur from Archbishop Innitzer, which was an enthusiastic endorsement of Hitler." No it wasn't. It was a critical assessment from a Catholic perspective.

" Hudal sent Hitler a copy with a handwritten dedication praising him as "the new Siegfried of Germany's greatness".[18] Nevertheless, the book was not allowed to circulate in Germany by the Nazis — who generally heavily disliked the Roman Catholic Church and did not wish church officials to "clericalize" their ranks — though the book was not officially banned." So what was it then, "banned" or allowed for distribution in Germany? --154.69.31.158 (talk) 09:27, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Who thinks that Hudal's book was an endorsement of practical National Socialism should read the book.... especially what he writes about Anti-semitism, German faith movement, Rosenberg, Fritsch, eugenics, race, Rome.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.64.206.156 (talk) 14:52, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

seems as if "Grundlagen" were not censored in Germany, but three other books, within his small book about Nietzsche

Imprimatur inconsistency[edit]

In the "Good" and "bad" National Socialism section, we have: In Vienna in 1937, Hudal published a book entitled The Foundations of National Socialism, with an imprimatur from Archbishop Theodor Innitzer, in which he enthusiastically endorsed Hitler. Hudal sent Hitler a copy with a handwritten dedication praising him as "the new Siegfried of Germany's greatness".

However, in the Vatican reaction section we have: The 1937 Hudal book froze his steady rise in Rome and resulted in his leaving the city after the war. His publication like his two previous, Rom, Christentum und deutsches Volk (1935) and Deutsches Volk und christliches Abendland (1935) did not have an imprimatur or ecclesiastical approval, which was another reason for the cooling of relations with the Vatican. Did the book have an imprimatur or not? 82.44.61.248 (talk) 08:53, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

His being pro Nazi[edit]

To me this is a concern as he was elevated by The Church to POPE. Does this tell me something about The Catholic Church? 60.240.213.238 (talk) 05:30, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
