Notice that the definition given in this article is "word used without meaning." This should have indicated to readers or potential editors of this article that perhaps it is not "a very minor concept in music theory". Hyacinth 23:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, how is "vocable" not verifiable and what indicates that it is a minor concept in music theory? The examples of its use in music include North America, Africa, and Asia, and those examples may be expanded upon, as is NA music. Hyacinth 23:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are there multiple non-trivial published works about vocables? If there are, I'll withdraw the nom myself - Tragic Baboon (banana receptacle) 00:06, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any suggestions as to a less minor topic which includes vocable? Hyacinth 08:52, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe just find some other articles that make mention of the concept (or ought to) and link this term to those pages? Actually, this seems like an article that could provide many examples; it shouldn't be considered a minor concept. Would this extend to things like scat singing, for example? Lexical[edit]

I'm changing "lexical vocables" to "non-lexical vocables". I'm really quite sure that's what is meant, but am happy to be corrected. Yaxu 21:21, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
