POV statement tags[edit]

The article's last paragraph on the apparent need for everyone to have umbrella insurance is really the insurance industry's POV. Even the NYT article is anecdotal. Kmarkey (talk) 04:43, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Personal umbrella causes of loss examples[edit]

Not sure this much additional detail is necessary, but personal umbrella is a bit mysterious because it can cover weird catastrophic losses which are extremely rare. See this thread Looking for Actual Experiences with Umbrella Insurance at Bogheleads where there are some PDFs referenced and discussion on the topic.
