Model of beam support[edit]

What is the model you are using for the support of these beams? I think it should be simply supported. Quicknick5k (talk) 20:57, 19 June 2019 (UTC)Quicknick5k[reply]

Sources for equations[edit]

where did you get these equations?

can you provide any references? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.230.103.131 (talk) 19:57, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Figure is not correct?[edit]

Curvatures of load points are wrong... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.130.107.42 (talk) 17:23, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What are you asking? I can't decipher it. Wizard191 (talk) 18:31, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect formula?[edit]

I think the formula for circular cross section is wrong. I do not have a reference to back up my argument. I derive it myself. For circular cross section, the moment of inertia is , the maximum stress is , instead of the value showing on the page.

Can someone confirm it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.165.95.71 (talk) 19:19, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As seen in the article itself, someone added a reference. I also confirmed this using the source, Fundamentals of Materials Science and Engineering: An Integrated Approach, 4th ed. by Callister & Rethwisch. p. 223. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.216.6.120 (talk) 17:36, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
