The Article says "he lived for two thousand years in three different palaces" and he "died at the age of forty thousand years".
Is the last meant to be the time on some scale when he had died?

According to the Buddhavamsa, Kassapa Buddha lived in his palaces for 2,000 years, then left the palace to begin a life of asceticism. After final achieving enlightenment, he traveled and taught until his eventual death at the age of 40,000 years. DiverDave (talk) 03:09, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for this and other corrections is that there are actually 2 lists, the shorter 1 beginning with Dipankara. Both lists are found in the Buddhavamsa. Peter jackson 15:22, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there is no definite beginning point for the numbering. There is also a list of "six ancient buddhas", in which Kassapa appears as the 6th.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 22:09, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
