Primary source tag[edit]
I've added all the secondary and tertiary sources I could find about the society. This includes two to three obituaries, two research studies on the society, a Brazilian press release about the conference in 2017, a book that recounted the seminal meeting, etc. This is probably the best we can do for an academic society. Tagging Kjcheetham to review. FlybellFly (talk) 08:53, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

- I'm the nominator and there is a different hook I'd like to nominate as well. Do I write it here or submit a new entry?
- ALT1:... that the first official resolution of the International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology was that they would never meet in a place with anti-sodomy laws? Source
General: Article is new enough and long enough |

Policy compliance:
- Adequate sourcing:
- Neutral:
- Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: - "manuscript based on a presentation at one of the two previous ISHPSSB meetings" is taken directly from a source. "Marjorie Grene and Ernst Mayr were Honorary Presidents, David Hull was elected as the first Vice President and" is way too close to "we elected Marjorie Grene and Ernst Mayr as Honorary Presidents. David Hull was elected as the first Vice President, and". both from 1

Overall: New enough, long enough. Multiple citations per paragraph, all quotes have inline citations. Neutral. Hooks are cited inline and are both reasonably interesting, I actually like ALT1 as it has a wow factor. Please fix the copyright and close paraphrasing issues mentioned and it should be good to go. - Fixed, (User talk:Footlessmouse. Please use ALT1 if it's more interesting! FlybellFly (talk) 20:02, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks! One more thing I just noticed, please add a citation directly after "utterly unpronounceable as written." in the Pronounciation section.
